On Sunday the 29th of September, we had the awesome opportunity of filming both Dariy & Anita at the beautiful Orchard Creek Lodge. Prior to filming, we knew we would have some logistical difficulties with the ceremony and reception venues being apart, and over 350 guest being present. It was a slight challenge for us, and we knew we would have to perform very well throughout the day to make everything come together and create an amazing film. As the day started, we noticed just how open and calm both the bride and groom where, it was very simple for us to work with them and find both the best angles/ light for their “getting ready shots”. Both Dariy & Anita where very friendly and it made the entire experience a-lot more personal for us which we loved. Upon arriving to Orchard Creek Lodge, we felt a sense of peacefulness throughout. With the pond, birds chirping about, and gorgeous waterfall and knew we had to capture the environment to “best tell the story”. As the crowd filled in and ceremony started, we made sure to capture the emotions from the crowd knowing that family meant a-lot to this couple. From the beautiful “I-do’s”, to the sand filling portrait followed by the romantic “first kiss”, we wrapped up knowing we had good content we could work with. Now normally receptions aren’t decorated to the extreme and are usually a bit more subtle. This was not the case with this couple. The hall was decorated from top to bottom with gorgeous flowers, candles, beautiful backdrops and a one-of-a-kind cake. This was a good sign for us to start focusing a-lot on the details throughout the venue, knowing that both Dariy & Anita went to great lengths to make their guests experience a very memorable one. As the reception progressed, we where able to capture some amazing toasts, songs, games and a very stunning first dance. Overall the entire day was a success. We loved being a part of this couples special day and felt good to be able to create something unique for them that they could cherish for a long time together.
