Dalton & Mackenzie officially made it on the list of our top 5 weddings this year. Where do we even start… on the warm Summer morning of July 6th, we packed up and headed over to film this sweet and energetic couple at the stunning Ralston White Retreat in Mill Valley, California. Driving up to the venue we noticed just how beautiful this location was. We definitely love filming outdoors because of natural light and overall atmosphere, and this venue certainly took our breath away. During the morning we could see just how happy and at home everyone felt whilst getting ready for the ceremony. Both Mackenzie and Dalton where enjoying themselves with their bridal parties and where overly welcoming to our team which made us feel right at home with them. We like to show every wedding in a different way, the more character the couple has, the better. We loved being able to capture that free flowing vibe of the bridesmaids dancing on the bed, “eventually getting Mackenzie to join”, to the groomsmen catapulting Dalton into the air, overall we knew we where off to a great start with awesome footage. Imagine this, a small creek flowing through a grove of trees, birds chirping, wind gently rocking beautiful redwood trees…that was the ceremony spot. We couldn’t have chosen a better place ourselves. We could tell just how close these families where as the ceremony progressed. From the heart-warming and hilarious vows of Mackenzie, “remembering how she couldn’t be mad around Dalton because of his joyful character even though she tried”, to Daltons “joking that he would love to finally start a family of 2 to 3 kids, not 5” everything led perfectly to the first kiss which had everyone smiling ear to ear. The wedding went without a hitch, as the cocktail hour progressed we got ready for the reception which also had it’s round of very well done speeches from both their families and friends. When we get hired to film these weddings, we always keep the fact that we won’t be working there alone in the back of our minds. We had an incredible team of photographers, wedding coordinators, DJ, and all other caters and vendors which where also all very professional and a pleasure to be around. As the reception started we worked seamlessly together to position the lights and add an extra bit of ambience to the room for the start of this couples very well choreographed first dance. As we worked into the night, it was evident that this would definitely be a epic and wonderful film. We would like to congratulate both Mackenzie & Dalton for tying the knot, and being so welcoming, kind and considerate to us.
