Andrey & Annette

I always thought that in order to fall in love with someone, you'd have to travel the world...

Andrey & Annette’s wedding was quite a fascinating one. We started the day at noon and whilst driving up to The Ranch at Stoney Creek, we where discussing just how much this place had potential for a beautiful wedding venue. Little did we know the half of it! We scouted the area and looked around for potential first look spots and creative shoot locations, “we always come a little earlier to be able to do this”, we then went and started with both the bride and groom for their morning preparations. We could tell everyone was excited and anxious for the ceremony. Every time we do a wedding, we always look out for details and try our best to capture them, and on this wedding, the love letters in the morning where exactly that. Love letters for us, are a great and fun way to both capture emotions, and build a more personal story for the couple. As both Andrey & Annette where finally ready, we went and set up for the first look. Although it might seem seamless in the film, a-lot actually goes into choreographing this event, meaning we might stop the couple a few times as the bride is walking up just to be able to capture those raw emotions of the groom impatiently waiting to see his bride, the brides dress waving in the wind as she approaches and of course the finale of them both seeing each other for the first time. Overall the entire morning went without a hitch and we knew that we where off to a great start. To back up in this story a bit, we’ve worked with this family several times. First with Paul & Taisiya, and then recently with Matt & Tanya, both weddings which you could also view on our site. The great part about all of this was that we felt as if we where part of this family, many familiar faces, and people complimenting us on the recent films we posted/ created for this family, the warm and friendly atmosphere was definitely one of our favorite parts from this day. As we got into the ceremony we started realizing just how beautiful the setting was, in the middle of mountains with tons of tall pine trees, birds chirping, and the wind gently creating the perfect breeze, everyone was ready to see these two get married. Some memorable moments definitely came from both of their vows, we love using these in our films as they once again, allow us to create the perfect narrated story that is both unique and personal for the couple. As the pastor finally announced them as husband and wife, everyones cheer was heard as they had their first kiss. We recently changed up our approach to filming as we realized just how important the family and relatives are to the couple, when cocktail hour begins we made sure to capture the happy vibes from those invited as they had fun, drank, and mingled. Following shortly was the reception which was timed perfectly as the sun was just overhead creating the perfect bit of light for the grand entrance. As everyone settled, we decided that it would be a great idea to go and have a sunset shoot. What we didn’t realize was that it would take about a mile to get to the top of the mountain where we could get the best footage of the mountains and see the sunset. The venues owners where overly polite and a pleasure to work with to make this incredible creative shoot happen. Heres the fun little side story to that. We where told by the lovely venue owners that we couldn’t walk up the mountain as it was a very far walk, so instead they let us take a four-wheeler up to the top to make it in time for the sunset. Our slight problem was that the four-wheeler had only space for 5, and we had six, and if you know us well… there was no way that we would only have one videographer go up, we needed two 🙂 So Nick “our main filmmaker”, took it upon himself to hang off the back of the four-wheeler as the venue owner “operating the vehicle”, plowed through the treacherous terrain and windy uphill roads to the top of the mountain. Although a little dangerous, we where happy we pulled it off as the view on the top made up for the cramped feet and sore hands that desperately hung onto the vehicle to get there. Once there we took out our gear and started filming the gorgeous shots that you’ll later see in this film, with the sun slowly setting and both Andrey & Annette enjoying themselves, it was the perfect way to capture the beautiful emotions and love from them both. As the day progressed we felt confident that we had captured just the right amount of footage to perfectly tell the story of this awesome couple. We hope you get to experience the same love filled, cheerful and happy environment through this film as how it was on that day. Cheers.
